freezing warmth,
i could use one every m'nin to drown my senses from the world
imagine the earth as a glass of tequila with ice. of course there's only ONE icey pole in this 'earth' as there is only one end where the ice floats towards, but i am sure you smart people get it.
now global warming is making the ice melt and yeah sure we are worried about the water rising blah blah whatnots. that poses a very scary threat as it will flood those low-lying areas yes.
but i think it's the least of our worries because see, when the ice melts, the whole glass of tequila cools down and if sufficient ice is present, the whole 'earth' will cool down and freeze up; AND this is just ONE of the causes that leads towards global freezing.
another cause would be the green house effect. imagine it as a double-edged sword. yeah sure it reflects heat back onto earth, but it also prevents heat from reaching the earth (from the sun). so which one overwhelms the other?
and another side point, [melting of the] ice that's already floating on water does not increase the water level. it's only the melting of continental ice that can raise the level. however, the melting of all those floating ice will quickly lead to the melting of continental ice too.
